Attention span???
Over the past two decades, the average attention span of a human dropped from 12 seconds to 8.25 seconds. Keep in mind, the average attention span of a goldfish is 9 seconds.

Sleeping problems??
Using your smartphone before bed can detrimentally affect the quality of sleep and REM sleep. The brightness of the smartphone displays blue light which disturbs the eyes and takes longer to fall asleep. Your phone enables your stimulation greatly and working your brain right before sleeping puts more stress on the body, therefore affecting sleep quality.

Socially Disconnected?
Nowadays, everyone does not have time for other people as they are engulfed in their smartphones. There is an absence of real conversation and relationships around our communities due to a false sense of community via social media apps and short-form content to scroll through. With increasing screen usage, there are more and more moments lost to wasting time watching meaningless funny videos.

Navigating around the Distraction
Meditation is a great way to calm the mind to start and end the day. Silencing your thoughts can create a space of mindfulness to stop yourself from wasting time on social media.
Spending more time with friends, family, and partners can combat that feeling of loneliness as a result of increased usage.
Charge your devices away from your sleeping area to set a boundary between your rest and waking periods, helping both the body and brain.
Turn off notifications, set screen time limits, and install productivity apps to maximize your technology benefits and avoid the pointless entertainment that comes with a smartphone addiction.
